About Goals Protocol:

• Goals Protocol aims to merge the best patterns in web2 and web3 to help people work towards their goals in an engaging way, whilst earning crypto.
• Taking inspiration from Web2, Goals Protocol’s functionality is modelled after habit tracking apps like Forest/Way of Life, and goal setting apps like Habitica/Complice. With goals protocol you’ll be able to:
  • → Set and track habits.
  • → Set goals, log tasks towards them.
  • → Do this in a socially and financially engaging manner, which is explained in the next paragraph.
• Taking inspiration from Web3, Goals Protocol applies ‘play-to-earn’ game-fi mechanics similar to those from StepN/Axie Infinity, whilst including pro-growth de-fi mechanisms like staking, rewards, a secondary marketplace for NFTs, a governance token for community input, and more.
• We believe this intersection of personal productivity software, game-fi mechanics, and web3 bootstrapped communities can create a meaningful product experience with rewarding economics for users.

How It Works (Core Product in 3 Steps):

The core metaphor for tracking habits and working towards a goal is ‘tending to a garden.’ As you commit time, effort, and consistency towards that garden, it will grow. Goals Protocol is built around this metaphor:

1. Every habit/goal is symbolised by a Garden NFT. In order to track a given goal/habit, Garden NFTs serve as your ticket to start tracking. You can imagine a ‘create habit’ workflow that leads directly to purchasing a Garden NFT for that habit.
2. The core utility behind these Garden NFTs are:
   1. Enables you to set goals/habits and track them.
   2. Earn the protocol’s native currency, $SOIL, as you make progress towards your goal. The amount of $SOIL a Garden NFT enables you to earn depends on factors such as: type of Garden NFT, type of habit log (are you commiting tracked time? are you sharing an image as ‘proof’?), and other factors.
   3. $SOIL that is earned has several use cases:
      1. It can be used to create new Garden NFTs that will be sold in the marketplace for anyone wanting to create a new habit/goal.
      2. It will also be possible to stake the $SOIL for the governance token.
      3. Users can use the $SOIL to upgrade your garden such that it can earn more per habit commitment. Level 20 Garden NFTs will be able to earn more $SOIL per habit log than Level 1 Garden NFTs. $SOIL is how you pay for those upgrades.
      4. Eventually, we want to create more functionality for $SOIL use, such as bounties for services, an accountability marketplace, etc.
3. Check in daily. Log your habits to each garden. Achieve your goals. Earn the aforementioned $SOIL. Boost the value of your Garden NFTs through upgrades.

In addition to the above core loop, our hope is to layer-in additional product modules which expand the ecosystem’s fun and utility. This includes:

• (A) Expanding our de-fi suite to amplify value within the network. This includes: renting/lending NFTs, staking tokens for rewards, token swaps/liquidity, marketplace for NFTs, and other primitives that have enabled Axie Infinity/De-Fi Kingdoms, and other to grow.
• (B) Building out the social universe that surrounds Goals Protocol, to further empower the community and individuals within the ecosystem. This entails social interfaces like feeds, shared on-boarding flows, teaming up with guilds that amplify your earnings,, and a community marketplace for productivity oriented services (i.e accountability/coaching).
• (C) Extending game universe. Examples: competitions and leaderboards with reward systems, digital avatars that augment the game, guild V guilt multiplayer modes, etc.
